one hundred years ago, Franz Hermle began manufacturing and selling
mechanical clocks. In 1922, Franz Hermle founded the Franz Hermle
Clock Company in Gosheim/Wuerttemberg, Germany. They have continued
to build the company into a worldwide leader in the manufacturing of
clocks, and mechanical clock movements. Now in its third generation,
Franz Hermle and Sohn employs over 500 people in 4 locations in
Germany and an additional manufacturing facility, Hermle Black Forest
Clocks, in Amherst, Virginia, USA.

When The Seth Thomas Factory was flooded in the mid 1950s, Their
manufacturing capability of clocks and Movements came to and end.
They turned to Hermle to make mantel and wall clocks to sell with the
Seth Thomas branding. Hermle clocks have been sold under many names,
such as: Howard Miller, Sligh, Ridgeway, New England, Emperor, and
More. Now Hermle clocks have cut out the middle man and reduced the
